Process Analysis Draft - Basic Guideline to cleansing


Many of us have heard celebrities talked about cleansing their body and I’m sure several of us have wondered what it is and how to do it. Well, cleansing is a strategy that helps your body get rid of bad toxins. We’re exposed to harmful substances all the time ((pesticides, microbes, and mercury, to name a few) they’re in our diet, and every air that we breathe in (think disinfectants, deodorizers, and the gasses released by fresh paint). We as human being have an excellent system in place to handle those toxins: Enzymes throughout the body are continuously breaking them down and helping to flush them out. Think of it as the body is coming out of what might be called hibernation. It’s a way you can jump-start your body for a more active life, a healthier life.
I’m just going to provide you some guidelines when it comes to doing a diet or whole body cleansing. First step for cleansing is choosing what type of cleansing you want to do. A good rule of thumb for a thorough and effective body cleansing is to focus on what your expectations are and your individual health needs. There are various types of cleansing techniques and programs; some have been around for centuries, while others are new. Make sure to look closely at your choices and weigh the pros and cons of each and every option you are considering.
Afterwards, make sure to follow your instructed instructions according to your cleansing product. When you start an cleanse, you don’t have to go caffeine free but it is not a bad idea. Sweeteners and extra fats are not helpful during a cleanse so try to avoid them if all possible. Try substituting green tea for coffee, and most definitely stay away from sodas and alcohol. Drink plenty of water. Increasing your water intake is one of the most important things you can do when attempting to cleanse your body naturally. You should aim to drink at least 8 glasses or 2 quarts of water throughout the day.
Next, you want to think about your meal plans. Fiber is the number one nutrient for maintaining proper digestive function. Eating more fiber helps the body to rid itself of the toxins, preservatives, and other harmful waste materials. Increasing your fiber intake helps to cleanse your body by stimulating regular bowel movements, leaving you feeling light and healthy, rather than bloated and sluggish. Therefore, try having whole-grain cereals, pasta, rice, fresh fruits and vegetables. For your meat, do chicken, turkey, or fish.
Following, you want to get some exercise. Getting regular exercise is one of the healthiest, most natural ways to cleanse the body. It helps you lose weight, thus releasing the toxins that have built up in fat cells over the years. Exercise improves both circulation and digestion. Try to incorporate at least 30 minutes of exercise within a day. Any exercise will do, walking, biking, going up and down the stairs, or dancing.
These are just some general guidelines on doing body cleansing. If you follow these instructions you’ll feel healthier and happier in no time. How often you cleanse is an individual matter and it’s up to you. I would usually recommend doing a cleansed at least twice a year. Once during spring and once during the fall.

  1. I have always wanted to try a cleansing! It would be really hard for me to go caffeine free though. The thesis was easy to pick out in the first paragraph because you said right away you were going to be talking about cleansing. One thing I would have liked to know more about is different types of cleansings. I have only really heard of juice cleanses. I did not know that we are all exposed to mercury in our diets, that is scary! Your spelling and grammar errors are getting less and less with more of your writing. Great job as always Yer!

  2. Your thesis was easy to pick out, what are some of the basic guide lines for doing a cleansing. You did have some errors early on, but the rest was pretty good. I think maybe you could talk about what different products there is on the market for this. Also it would be nice to hear about your own experiences with cleansing. I like the topic and think more people should try to live a healthier life style

  3. Great thesis to write about and you stuck to your topic. I found two typos in the essay, just misspelled words, but did well in the rest. Cleansing is a serious part of dieting and should be done carefully. Advocare actually explains in detail a little more about how often to apply and what to avoid for foods. Everyone should try to eat healthy to begin with but isn't always possible. This is a good way to "jump start" your new life.

  4. I like your topic. Your thesis is clear. You have numerous punctuation errors as well as spelling errors. You also wrote; "instructed instructions" I think just saying instructions would suffice in that situation. "For your meat, do chicken, turkey, or fish." you may want to add a bit more to this than just "doing" the meat. There are numerous ways to prepare "meat" counter productive to a cleansing process. You offer some great information. Thanks for your post.

  6. Your thesis was very easy for me to find. There were a few spelling and punctuation errors that everyone has pointed out. I would like to hear a little more about the typical day during a cleansing period and how long you have to do it. Basically I would like more specific details on how a cleanse works and a few different types. Overall god job.

  7. 1st paragraph, 1st line it should be "talk". 1st paragraph, 3rd line there should be just one parenthesis instead of two and maybe a period after the first set of parenthesis and start a new sentence. So then, they're should be capitalized. 4th line it might sound better to say "in the air we breathe". 3rd paragraph might want to say "follow your instructions". 3rd paragraph, 2nd line should spell "caffine". Other than these, your process analysis is good!

  8. I liked the introduction cleansing in the first paragraph. It read like a published article. A few easily fixed typos. Most people dont even realize how much healthier they would feel if they just cut out a few things from thier diet and drank more water. Good essay!

  9. Your thesis was clear. You know your topic well, and this essay shows it! there were only a few spelling errors which everyone has seemed to have pointed out. i like that each step is very clear. maybe just a few more medical details on how it all works but overall great essay!

  10. I am sorry I could not respond to your post earlier, my computer is not allowing me. I enjoyed your essay as always. I have tried cleanses before but they are not very fun. I do think it is a good idea to try one but to find one that you can actually complete

  11. I am looking for a strong thesis, structure, organization and supporting detail in these drafts. In class tonight students will have the opportunity to check their essays for a thesis statement, proper organization and transitional words, phrases and sentences that show their essays to be organized. I am not reading these for proofing errors or diction right now, but will in the coming weeks as I score them. If I do not mention it in this comment, I have not seen overt weaknesses in structure, thesis or organization. At first read, there appears to be enough supporting detail to yeild *at least* an average score in development. Unless I specifically mention it, there are no obvious problems that would prevent you from scoring in the average range or better. As for above average or "A" quality, that will be more obvious as I sit with your essay longer. As long as the essay is turned in on time, the essay is eligible for revision and a higher score.

    *I saw that you went to the writing center. I applaud you on your initiative and dedication! The last sentence should begin with "Whole body cleansing" rather than "It." Remove first person from this essay to help keep it technical. There are some organizational issues here that could be remedied with more detail and a plan.
